Spyderco Byrd Meadowlark FRN, version 2, plain edge

£ 20.75
The knife industry loves acronyms, and one frequently seen is the term FRN.
It means 'Fibreglass Reinforced Nylon', which is a plastic material used in manufacturing knife handles, because it’s lightweight, long wearing and not prohibitively expensive.
One of the Byrd line’s cornerstone models, the Meadowlark is available for the first time with FRN handles.
The FRN Meadowlark has slip-free texture, deeply moulded into the plastic so it won’t slide or move around in the hand.
Nested inside the handle are full-length steel liners, adding rigidity and strength without unnecessary weight, and also phosphor bronze bushing for smooth open/close action.
The 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade is hollow-ground with a comet shaped hole, so the folder opens and closes one-handedly.
On top of the blade’s spine is a series of crosshatchings the knife industry calls jimping.
Jimping creates tactile resistance, gripping the thumb and keeping it in contact with the top of the blade while cutting.
Features a 4-way pocket clip for left or right-handed, tip-up or tip-down carry.
The cut-out of the lock’s release is a safety feature called a David Boye Dent, allowing you to tightly grip the handle without fear of accidentally releasing the lock.

Version 2 has an improved handle and the blade moves more smoothly.

Very well made with high quality blade section containing blade. Nothing is loose or has play. The feel of the handle is appropriate for that price. make the size of the blade and the blade is "wearable every day."
The delivery was smooth and fast as usual.

Thank you!

10/10 quality for price. very good knife (there is idd better) for the price. One can see that Spyderco has given his blessing. The Spyderco round hole is better than the 3-corner of Byrd. 'm Happy.

've Taken halfgekartelde version for daily use. Blade is easy to carry and use all kinds of stitching. The blade is not that big, so people do not scare the knife out of your bag to use. The quality is good, no play. The clip-on is mobile. Easily through the opening, drop-shaped eye. The block is a hand to lift without the knife against your fingers come. In short, a handy penknife.

The delivery was after 2 days so I did not have long to wait. The Byrd Meadowlark has a good grip and is also suitable for precision work. Very light and slim design. Very practical for every day you have. The dimensions are "socially" acceptable. I myself am also in possession of a Spyderco Native (similar in size) but it certainly does not for Byrd Meadowlark. Overall a good quality knife for a low price.
